Miniature Railway
When are we running next?
We are open Saturday 2 November and Sunday 3 November.
The Heritage Centre is open from 10AM to 4:30PM with last entry at 3:30PM
We are planning to run Vulcan.
But please be aware sometimes operational issues cause us to run an alternative locomotive.
Jenny, our steam engine, requires some major boiler work and so won’t be putting in an appearance for a while.
Updated: 29/10/2024
Jenny has a starring role in Crewe Town Council’s Christmas 2023 film “Coal for Christmas”

Our Locomotives
Norcliff
After being the main stay of the railway recently NORCLIFF is now able to have a bit of a rest while we put VULCAN through its paces.
Jenny
We also have a resident steam locomotive Jenny.
Jenny requires work on her boiler which means she won’t be in operation over the summer.
Vulcan
Vulcan is now part of our main fleet of locomotives and will be in action most weekends over the summer.
66789
We are happy to report that we have 66789 back in operation at the Heritage Centre.

Our Track
We have three stations, Old Works, Forge End and Spider Bridge. The stations are named after areas once occupied by Crewe Works. We have a turntable at each station which allows us to turn the engine and then run it around to the front of the train. On leaving Old Works we cross the level crossing and then go north towards Forge End passing through the tunnel. Having turned at Forge End we head south towards Spider Bridge running alongside the APT-P. We then turn at Spider Bridge head back to Forge End and then back to Old Works.
